Cijing AI Privacy Policy
Cijing AI is a teleprompter. This page explains what we do—and do not do—with your information. It is a practical App Store compliance notice, not formal legal advice.
Information We Collect
We do not sell your personal data and the app has no third-party ads or analytics SDKs. Scripts stay on your device by default; text is sent only if you choose the optional “AI Write for Me” and consent (see “AI writing” below).
- No account is required for core features.
- Scripts stay in the on-device sandbox and are removed if you delete the app.
- Scripts, camera frames and microphone audio are not uploaded; the only exception is text you enter in “AI Write for Me” and agree to send.
Permissions
- Camera: Used only when you start camera prompting, to preview and record.
- Microphone: Records your voice when you use camera prompting; the floating prompter’s “voice following” also uses the microphone to hear where you are in the script, but only on this iPhone — nothing is recorded or uploaded for it.
- Speech recognition: Voice following uses iOS speech recognition to locate the line you have read to. It runs on the device (iOS may need to download the on-device model for your language first); neither the audio nor the recognised text is sent to our server.
- Photo Library (add only): Used only if you save a finished recording. We do not browse your whole library.
- Background audio: Keeps system Picture in Picture alive so the script can keep scrolling after you switch apps. It is not a disguised music player.
On-device processing
Scrolling, the speech recognition behind voice following, appearance, countdown, cue line, camera overlay, and optional look adjustments (such as mirroring or a virtual background) all run on the device; voice following never uploads audio or recognised text.
Remote configuration
The app reads feature switches and free allowances (for example trial counts and floating prompter limits) from our configuration server (config.nexlab.top) so they can be adjusted without a new release. The request carries only the app identifier, version and build number — no script content and no user or device identifier.
AI writing (optional)
Writing, prompting and recording work on the device without a network. Content is sent to our server only when you actively use “AI Write for Me” and have explicitly consented before first use:
- What is sent: the script text or points you type or paste on the AI screen, plus the platform, scene, target length and extra request you choose. Your other scripts, camera frames, videos and microphone audio are never sent.
- Anonymous install ID: the app creates a random ID (kept in the on-device Keychain; no name, email or device identifier) to count free uses and prevent abuse.
- Subscription proof: if you subscribe, the app sends an Apple-signed transaction that our server verifies to confirm membership and monthly uses. We never receive your card details or Apple ID password.
- Third-party processing: to write the draft, your text is passed through our server to OpenRouter, Inc. (United States), which routes the AI request, and then to OpenAI (United States), the model provider currently used. We have confirmed that these third parties provide the same or equal protection as this policy: requests only use endpoints that commit to zero data retention and no training on your data, under contractual and routing constraints. See the OpenRouter privacy policy and the OpenAI privacy policy. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
- What we keep: the server does not store your script text or the generated result (to avoid double charges on retries, a result is cached in memory for about 10 minutes). Records are limited to: the random install ID, subscription ID (members), consent version and time, usage counts and cost, timestamps. Web-server access logs contain IP address, time, request path and status code for troubleshooting and abuse prevention, never request content, and are deleted after a limited period.
- Server location: our server is in Japan and AI providers operate in the United States and elsewhere, so data crosses borders.
- Withdrawing consent: turn it off in the app’s Settings at any time; nothing is sent afterwards. To have records tied to the random ID handled, email us.
Purchases
Cijing Membership is an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store; Apple processes payment and we never receive your card details or Apple ID password. Writing, prompting and recording do not require a subscription.
Children
The app is for general creators. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not ask for children’s personal information.
Changes
If our data practices change, we will update this page and the effective date.
